Overview

This page has been created to allow for discuss of our Target User Community for Kepler. All definitions are open for discussion by the Kepler community. It is a DRAFT DOCUMENT intended for Kepler developers. Comments and feedback are appreciated.

Current Definition:

A Kepler User is a quantatively trained Biologist, Ecologist, Geoscientist with interest in creating and using editable scientific models of computation.

In order to better define our User community we need to specify (at least to ourselves):

  1. level of Quantative training
  2. level of Biological/Ecological training
  3. level of programming skill
  4. ...

Open Questions

  • Should Biologist, Ecologist, Geoscientist be parsed out to three separate user communities?
  • Should the core group of scientists we use to create and test the software be different from that of the expected users of future releases?
