Web User Interface Interest Group Charter

A DRAFT charter for the web user interface interest group.

Mission

The web user interface interest group discusses the variety of ongoing efforts to provide web access to Kepler.  Members look both for commonalities and differences in the needs of various projects requiring web interfaces Kepler, and keep each other informed about their development projects.  Members use this venue to propose and charter task groups for jointly developing systems required by multiple projects.

Scope of activity

  • Gather and post descriptions of current activities in the Kepler developer community related to web-based user interfaces for Kepler.
  • Compare and contrast requirements of different projects for web interfaces to Kepler.
  • Identify systems potentially required by multiple projects and define these systems well enough to determine if a common system could in fact meet the requirements of these projects.
  • Charter tasks groups for developing systems needed by multiple projects.
  • Define terminology required to facilitate communication within the group, with other Kepler developers, and with Kepler users.
