Workflow Reporting and Report Generation

This page describes ongoing work and plans for developing interfaces to and extending Kepler so that Reports for Kepler workflows can easily be specified, designed, generated, saved, and shared.

Typical scientific use cases for Kepler require complex workflows that are executed many times with varying input data and parameter settings and that generate many data products during each run.  Effectively capturing and reviewing the output of a scientific analysis can be a daunting chore for Kepler users.  By creating the capability for users to design and generate reports from Kepler workflows, we can facilitate workflow sharing and improve many aspects of scientific communication and information exchange.

Below is a diagram that shows an overview of the reporting capability and related systems.
